Lettuce growing in the 'Greenlandic Greenhouse', the only lettuce farm in the country, located inside a LED illuminated warehouse, allowing year round growing.
The plant is run by Rasmus Jakobsen (centre), who migrated to Greenland from Denmark six years ago, and saw a gap in the market for fresh vegetables, of which Greenland mostly has to import due to climate and soil conditions.
Rasmus says that lettuce, like most other fruit and vegetables, is usually more expensive than meat in Greenland.
